Simple Moments of Joy

My students daily say the silliest things. Today was extra funny. My students were doing presentations infront of the class while the rest of the class was taking notes. I wanted to make sure each group, when presenting, wrote notes on the white board with illustrations! I noticed a student was not really coping down stuff off the board...I got on the kid's case...his response, "Sarah's big hair is in the way!" This was the perfect comment for me to go on my peddle stool. I mentioned the proper way to address a lady about her hair is that it is always beautiful. You compliment the lady, rather than tear her down. I opened a can, for soon all the boys in the class began to agree with me....sooo funny..."I know, my mom always wants me to compliment her hair." Another kid "Yeah me too, my mom not only wants me to tell her her hair looks good, but also her body!" I laughed outloud....so funny....I told the individual student to get used to that! So funny! This is my job....intertwind with other educational stuff of course state mandated action!
